This garage makeover took a bit longer than the others on this list, but the end results are certainly worth it. The homeowner made every effort to refresh this space, including painting the walls using a spray painter and creating their own checkered floor pattern with garage floor tiles.

They didn’t skimp on storage either, and chose to install sleek, black lockers, a couple of sturdy garage standing racks and ones on the ceiling in front of the open garage door, too. For all their tools, they choose to use the popular and customizable option of a pegboard.

This family spent a lot of effort on the front-end of the garage makeover: the clean-out process. They managed to pare down the junk they’d accumulated over the years by quite a bit, so when it came time to organize what was left, they had a lot more space to use in their newly clean garage.

Unlike the other entries on this list, this makeover’s startling change doesn’t come from getting rid of or organizing a mountain of clutter. Instead, this homeowner got a garage floor refinished in a glossy, copper epoxy coating.

While this garage makeover didn’t require hauling out a ton of junk, the family did need to do something to keep all their cleaning and garden supplies in order. 

After buying some stackable utility shelves to store their bigger belongings and several plastic storage bins, they also mounted some tool organizers on the wall. Now their space is clean and functional and won’t need as much maintenance to keep this organized all the time.

This final makeover was done by some creative homeowners, who decided they needed to rework their garage space. They were using it for exercising and woodworking but hadn’t done much with the space. After deciding that they needed to upgrade their garage, they got to work and made a lot happen with a small budget.

They didn’t go for any of the traditional options for storage. Instead, they found someone online who was getting rid of their old kitchen cabinetry during a remodel and go the whole set for free. After painting them all a glossy black, they hung the cabinets.

The homeowners decided to also coat the floor with epoxy and decorative paint chips, repaint the walls with discounted paint that someone else returned to the local big box hardware store, and added and stained a wood countertop for the cabinets. Incredibly, the total price for their project was only $166.
